Definitely seems confused when judging large entries. I would be sure to pair her with an experienced steward.

I have shown to her before and it was always a good experience. But this was a different experience. She is friendly, nice, soft spoken, gentle with dogs, and with handlers alike. However, she was painfully slow. it took 10 minutes for her to make her final selections AFTER she had examined them, and there were only 8 dogs in the ring. She was very confused. She pulled out a dog and bitch, told each they were BOB and BOS, and then pulled out another bitch, and told her she was BOS, pulled out a different dog and told them they were BOB, ..and still had not selected a BOW. The one exhibitor questioned the lack of BOW, and at that point, she pulled another bitch up and told her she was BOS, and the person who questioned her was moved back to the other dogs spot. Sitting ringside...watching and listening, it was obvious that she was confused about what she had pulled out, for what reason, and eventually she did pull a dog out for BOW, and her final placement was BOB, Select, BOS, Select and BOW. Exhibitors were VERY confused, and those watching were confused. The AKC rep was ringside observing and did speak with exhibitors afterward.

I agree with the comments, seemed very confused could not remember who she put as breed vs opposite who was a dog vs bitch. DNS.

This judge did not know the breed standard. She seemed very confused and disoriented. As a spectator watching this judge, it seemed this was her first time judging.

Very slow judging style, but friendly to dogs, and handlers alike. Careful exam, and appeared to make her choices after some lengthy thought. This slowed down her judging and put her behind, but for those who want a judge who gives a lot of thought to her choices, then this is the judge. I have won, and I have lost, but I would certainly show to her again.

Large entry of papillons. Looked pretty lost in her judging, but smiled allot. I did not have a clue as to what she was looking for - I just know I will add her to my DNS list!!!

A couple of us jokingly nicknamed this judge "the tease" a few years ago after 3 of us showed to her 3 times in the space of a year or two, and took RW to the majors every time. She would appear to be seriously considering one of our dogs (and seemed consistent in liking a similar type), but then would give the major to a handler and give us reserve. Once or twice is one thing but 4 times in 3 shows made us really wonder if she just enjoys teasing owner/handlers with major reserves. I see she is coming up again and it's been a few years, so I will give her another chance, as I do think she knows a good dog, the handlers' dogs she put up were not BAD dogs (the best there? maybe, maybe not, but not bad by any stretch), so I will give her a chance to prove it is not about the handler. I'll show her a few good ones and see what she does! To be continued...

Knows this breed well and will put up the correct dog, not top handler.

Very non-political. Had no problem putting a puppy BW.

This judge did not seem to know the breed standard or how a dog should move. She gave winner's dog to a dog that paced the entire time! Definitely on my DNS list!!
